Camp Featuring Brian Roberts and Derrick Mason to be Held at Park School
BALTIMORE – Two of Baltimore’s most popular professional athletes, Brian Roberts of the Orioles and Derrick Mason of the Ravens, are scheduled to appear at the API/Perform Fit Sports and Fitness Camp, to be held at the Park School of Baltimore June 30 – July 3. The camp is for boys and girls ages 7 to 14.
Former Orioles Strength and Conditioning Coach Tim Bishop, who was with the team for 14 years, and former General Manager of Ripken Baseball Camps and Clinics Scott Lowe, co-author of Coaching Youth Baseball the Ripken Way,are the camp directors.
“The goal of our camp is to show kids that participating in a variety of sports, either on organized teams or in the backyard, is a fun and effective way to stay shape,” Lowe said. “We want the kids to have a great time, learn some fundamental skills that will help them improve and to go home tired.”
The camp, which will place an emphasis on fundamental skill development through fun drills and contests as well as using participation in a variety of sports as an enjoyable way to stay fit, will run from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day. Baseball, basketball, flag football and soccer are among the sports that will be covered. Morning stations will feature activities in various sports as well as Tim’s Fun Fitness Station. Afternoon sessions will include swimming and organized games.
The $400 registration fee includes four full days of camp, daily supervised swimming, a
t-shirt, daily lunch and snacks as well as additional surprises. Sibling and referral discounts are available. Extended care also may be available if there is enough interest. For more information please go to www.APICamps.com or call 443.834.5084.
